Where is the green in all that grey?
It turned to brown and faded away.
The nights get longer with every day
And all the leaves are bitten, I’m afraid.
Everyone hides inside their house
And all the birds have moved to south.
But I will stay here and won’t come out
Until the flowers begin to sprout.
From the treetops I can see further.
It’s a rush of chlorophyll.
But actually I won’t feel better
Cause the colors are so shrill.
I am hiding my own feelings
Cause I’m ashamed for what I think.
Now I’m staring at the ceiling
And it feels like I would sink.
All I see just disappoints me
While the rest is so in love.
I’m too dumb to simply feel free.
I’m too stern I cannot laugh.
Maybe I’m the bigger problem
And everything is just okay.
But inside my head there’s something bad
And I’m just in my way.
Sunlight awakens all the life.
But I’m so tired that I’d rather die.
Where is the grey in all that green.
It’s all so pied that I could scream.
I want it white like in my dreams.
I want it back like it has been.
Plinky shoegaze-inflected guitar rock confronts the world with both nihilism and hope on the sophomore release Philadelphia band Knifeplay. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 1, 2022
The first new music from Philly group Knifeplay, “Hurt Someone” is a dark-hued dreampop song with rippling guitars and ample shadows. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 20, 2021
I was always intrigued by this group's choice of album covers, it isn't every day that you see high quality space photos in this genre despite the rise of "cosmic" black metal. But the music blew me away, this sounds like Austere took the atmospheric spacey route. (I will assume it's a coincidence that both bands are Australian) porcelainheart-
